Benefits of Omega Blend

I started taking an Omega Blend about 10 months ago. Mainly because I was told its good for your brain. That's all I really needed to know since I convinced myself that I still have mommy brain after having three children. Also, I work with cancer patients who most tell me they experience chemo brain, aka forget everything! So why not add another health benefit to my already existing healthy diet. With a little more education I learned all the health benefits of why I should add an Omega supplement to my daily diet.

Omegas are fatty acids that have been shown to support a broad array of health benefits-especially for the heart, brain, joints, skin, and eyes. We need two essential Omega fatty acids, Omega 3 and Omega 6. The number 3, for example refers to chemical differences among the various types of omega fatty acids that impact how they are absorbed into the body. Import for brain development, immune system function and blood pressure regulation.  The human body can not make certain omega fatty acids so we need to add them to our diet. Not always easy to do! Our only source is through food. Among Omega 3s, what do we know about DHA,EPA and ALA? DHA ( docosohexanoic acid) EPA (eicosapentanoic acid) are the two main fatty acids. Both found primarily in algae and fish. DHA is crucial tor the healthy structure and function of the brain. An optimal intake of DHA is especially essential for pregnant and nursing mothers to ensure adequate brain development in their children.

Do I "Need" an Omega 3 EPA and DHA? Let the Research speak for itself! Vital nutrients to maintain healthy function of the brain and retina: -DHA is a building block of tissue in the brain and retina of the eyes. It helps with forming neural transmitters which is import for function. -Cardiovascular system- EPA and DHA are converted into hormone like substances and they regulate cell activity and healthy heart function. -Human  growth and intellectual development DHA plays a huge role in fetal development, early infancy and old age. High concentrations of DHA are found in the brain and increase 300-500 percent in an infant's brain during the last trimester of pregnancy. Elderly people should also take EPA/DHA which may help with mental abnormalities, such as Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Other benefits include preventing and reversing heart disease, and decreasing irregular heartbeats; as well as asthma, cancer, menstrual problems, hot flashes, hay fever, lung disease, lupus erythematosus, and kidney disease. EPA/DHA are also used in combination for migraine headache prevention in adolescents, skin infections, Raynaud's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. EPA is also used in combination with RNA and L-arginine after surgery to reduce infections, improve wound healing and shorten recovery time. Well I would say yes, I do need an Omega supplement so sign me up!!!

ALA (alpha linolenic acid) is the main short chain omega 3 fatty acid found primarily in plants such as flaxseed, chia, and others which I love to through into my protein shake. Most of the proven benefits of Omega 3s have been linked to DHA/EPA rather than ALA, but can have some additional benefits in your body. ALA seems to help prevent certain kinds of cell damage in the body and also restore vitamin levels such as vitamin E and C. There is also evidence that ALA can improve the function and conduction of neurons in diabetes.

Omega Blend- Omega 3 5 6 7 9 Oh My! Omega 5 is a unique essential fatty acid obtained from the seed of the pomegranate, Omega 5 is the only known botanical form of conjugated Linolenic acid. One on the most potent antioxidants known to modern science. Omega 6 along with 3 plays a crucial role in brain function and normal growth development. Omega 6 helps stimulate skin and hair growth, maintain bone health, regulate metabolism, and maintain the reproductive system. Omega 7 are a class of unsaturated fatty acids. They are rare in the plant kingdom. The richest source of the incredible fatty acid is sea buckthorn berry oils. The highest Omega 7 potency of any natural source.  Hair, Skin and Nails- One thing I have truly noticed since I started taking Omega Blend is shinier hair, healthy skin ( eczema sufferer) and strong nails is definitely my number one since they grow so fast and I'm cutting them once a week. Some people have shared that they have less wrinkles and dryness. Here's a tip, I have been putting the oils from my Omega around my eyes at night:) Its now my go to night regimen. Sea buckthorn berry to the rescue!                                         Reports of Cardiovascular health shown promise for maintaining healthy cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels. Mucous Membrane health- the human body has a complex network of mucous membranes that protects the health of our bodies. Many people suffer from dry or irritated mucous membranes. ( this is truly fascinating as I just read this fact) Unhealthy mucous membranes are the cause of several prevalent digestive health problems helped accelerate the repair process of gastric tissue and mucosa. Omega 9 benefits the heart, brain and overall well being when consumed and produced in moderation. Isn't that true for most things? In moderation, I love that word! May help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. increases energy, decreases anger and enhanced mood. May benefit this with Alzheimer's.

Ingredients of the Omega Blend which are vegan all plant based. Even though I'm not vegan "yet" I do try to eat as much plant based whole food nutrition as possible. So when in doubt add more to my diet! Algal oil comes from micro algae, Schitzochytrium, which is grown specifically for its rich DHA/EPA content. Fish actually get their DHA and EPA from eating algae, so we like to say that we are just cutting out the middle fish and going to the original plant source. Sea buckthorn berry is a small orange berry grown in remote regions of the Himalayan Mountains. It is incredibly nutritious and growing in popularity. Ten health benefits are to help reduce symptoms of dry eye, cardio protective effects, boost the immune system, fights depression, excellent source of Omega 7 fatty acids,Improve digestion, moisturize skin and scalp, supports healthy hormones, reduce inflammation, liver and pancreas supports. Pomegranates are a great source of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins A,E,K and B.  Raspberry benefits to help reduce risk of macular degeneration, promotes good health and protects against cancer, helps production of milk in lactating mother, protects against infections caused by bacteria and fungi, strengthens the immune system, helps tho maintain healthy skin beneficial in regulation menstrual cycle in women, relieves nausea in pregnant women and aids in reducing wrinkles and age spots. Now I knew that whole food nutrition does a body good but I had no idea one little fruit can do all this:) Safflower Oil reduces cholesterol, reduces blood sugar levels, enhances hair growth and nourishes dry skin. Tomato seed the best natural source of lycopene( ripe, red tomatoes are usually richer in lycopene
